The Flavours of the Hills
A warm, unhurried dining experience rooted in the culinary traditions of Himachal Pradesh — open to cottage guests and visitors alike.
Where Every Meal Feels Like Home
Tucked inside the Vanam property with views of the surrounding deodar forest, our restaurant is a place to slow down and eat well. The menu draws from the rich culinary heritage of Himachal Pradesh — slow-cooked lentils, hand-ground spice pastes, seasonal vegetables from local farms — alongside familiar Indian favourites prepared with the same care.
Whether you're joining us for a leisurely breakfast before a morning trek, a long lunch on the terrace, or a candlelit dinner by the fireplace, the kitchen is ready. We welcome both cottage guests and outside visitors — no reservation required for breakfast and lunch, though we recommend booking ahead for dinner.
Two Ways to Dine
Fireside Dining
The indoor dining room seats 40 guests around a central stone fireplace that burns through the cooler months. Warm wooden interiors, soft lighting, and the crackle of the fire make it the perfect setting for an evening meal — especially in winter when the temperature drops and the mountains outside are dusted with snow.
Terrace with a View
When the weather is kind, the terrace is where you want to be. Twenty seats overlooking the valley and the pine-covered ridgeline — ideal for a slow breakfast with the morning mist, or a sundowner as the light fades over the Himalayas. Open from spring through autumn.
The Kitchen
Our Head Chef
Our head chef brings over two decades of experience cooking in the hills of Himachal Pradesh. Trained in traditional Himachali home cooking and refined through years in mountain resort kitchens, the menu is a personal one — dishes that have been passed down, adapted, and made entirely from scratch each day. Signature preparations include the slow-cooked Madra, a Himachali chickpea curry simmered in yoghurt and whole spices, and the house dal — a recipe the chef has been perfecting for fifteen years.
